Robertson Education Fund
The Helen (Martindale) Ferguson Education Award - The successful candidate shall receive the sum of $500 to provide support for continuing staff education for registered Nurses at the Greater Niagara General Hospital Site. It was created in memory of Helen Martindale by her family.
Niagara-on-the-Lake philanthropists Joe and Anita Robertson generously provided a $100,000 gift to the It’s Our Time Campaign to support healthcare excellence at Niagara Health System. Joe Robertson serves on the Brock University Board of Trustees; Anita is a nurse by profession – and their gift reflects a firm belief that hospitals benefit from a strong teaching environment.
Recognizing the connection between knowledge and quality care, the Robertson’s stipulated that $50,000 of their gift be used to invest in human resources at NHS – specifically to support staff members who choose to continue their education at Brock University.
The Robertson Education Fund offers $10,000 per year to be dispersed twice annually. Awards will be granted through the Interprofessional Practice Council. The Council Secretary will be responsible to manage the application process and communicate with OneFoundation for Niagara Health System the value of the grants committed, the names of the grantees, and the nature of the studies pursued.
Staff members enrolled in studies may apply for up to $500.00 per course with the submission of receipts for tuition and /or books. For further details, contact OneFoundation
